Yellow flies (also known as horse flies) are most likely encountered in hot summer and early fall weather. Moving objects, especially if dark colored, are most prone to attack.  Attacks occur during daylight hours with a peak beginning at sunrise and lasting three hours.  A second peak is two hours before sunset and commences shortly after.  Ask us what we do to keep them from bothering the horses.

Does your Princess want a horse?

Florio Palm Valley Ranch is a 30 acre pasture boarding facility with individual feed stalls.  Each paddock has an automatic watering system and run-in shelters facing a southerly direction for maximum protection from exposure.  We offer daily and monthly board for your horse or herd.

We believe in a natural setting for you and your horse.  With 24 hour gated security, our ranch is a quiet, peaceful retreat offering a place to get away from the hustle of the city, and settle down to a simpler way of life.  Walk or run around the mile track surrounding the paddocks.  While riding, stop along the way and enjoy the oak hammock's stone garden.  Sit along the bank of our spring-fed pond stocked with bream, bass, and channel catfish.  Swim your horse when the temperature rises.
